What's CBD?
CBD stands for cannabidiol, which is one of the many cannabinoid compounds found in the leaves and flowers of hemp plants.
These cannabinoids interact with our body’s endocannabinoid system, which helps regulate essential functions like sleep, appetite, memory, pain and immune response. CBD is non-intoxicating and taken for its potential therapeutic properties. Learn more about the benefits of CBD.
About Advance Extract CBD
What Is "Full-Spectrum" Extract?
Full-spectrum extract means you're getting the whole range of compounds found in hemp's leaves and flowers – not just CBD, but the other cannabinoids, terpenes (aromatic compounds) and flavonoids (natural antioxidants) that work alongside it. Together, they're thought to make CBD more effective than it would be on its own.
What Is CO2 Extraction?
CO2 extraction is the cleanest way to pull cannabinoids out of hemp. Instead of using chemical solvents, it uses pressurised carbon dioxide and controlled temperatures to separate the cannabinoids, terpenes and other compounds from the plant material. The CO2 evaporates off afterwards, leaving no toxic residue – which is why this method has become the industry standard for high-quality CBD.
What Is Bioavailability?
We designed Advance Extract’s CBD product to increase bioavailability – how much of the CBD your body can actually absorb. Only 6-20% of CBD taken orally reaches the bloodstream. But research suggests certain processing methods – like pairing CBD with MCT oil and using nano-emulsification – can lift that number and speed up absorption.
Coconut MCT Oil
CBD is a fat-soluble compound, so it needs to be mixed with a carrier oil to be absorbed. That's where MCT oil comes in.
MCT stands for medium-chain triglyceride, a type of saturated fat found naturally in certain foods, including coconut oil, palm kernel oil, and dairy products. Normal coconut oil contains around 50-65% MCTs; coconut-derived MCT oil is a purified extract that contains 100% MCTs. Unlike long-chain triglyceride fats, MCTs are absorbed much more quickly into the bloodstream.
Nano CBD
Nano CBD is CBD that’s been through nanoemulsification, a process where CBD oil is broken down into droplets smaller than 100 nanometres (for scale: there are a million nanometres in a millimetre). At that size, the CBD disperses easily in water-based environments like your saliva, stomach and bloodstream, which can increase the speed and effectiveness of CBD absorption.
Using Advance Extract CBD
Advance Extract comes in a 50 mL bottle with a dropper. Two things make the difference in how well it works: the dose you take, and how you take it.
Dosage
CBD dosing varies based on a few things, including your age, body weight, tolerance, and what you're taking it for. If you're new to CBD, start with a low dose (1-5 mg) and build up gradually until you find what works for you. You can also use a dosage calculator, which factors in your weight, tolerance, oil strength and more to give you a personalised starting point.
Sublingual Application
When taking Advance Extract CBD, hold the oil under your tongue (sublingually) for 60-90 seconds before swallowing.
Taking Advance Extract sublingually can improve bioavailability and shorten the time before you feel its effects. The tissue under your tongue is thin, porous and highly vascular, which means small, fat-soluble molecules like nano-emulsified CBD can pass directly into the capillaries and from there into your bloodstream. That bypasses digestion, which would otherwise metabolise most of the CBD before it reaches your brain, muscles and other tissues.
People taking sublingual CBD can feel effects in 15-30 minutes, compared to 1-2 hours when swallowed, because it skips the trip through your digestive system and liver.
