Punch In. Show Up. Repeat. The Routine of Brent Walton

Brent Walton isn’t just built for the ring, he’s built for the grind. Whether it’s pushing through 40-degree heat in the boxing gym or turning up to the office with the same intensity, Brent lives and trains with one philosophy: all in or nothing.

We caught up with Brent between rounds to talk recovery, mindset, and what performance looks like outside the ring.

What does a day outside the ring look like for you?

Honestly, I don’t stop. I’m a full-time draftsman, so when I’m not training, I’m working. And on weekends? I’m still moving. Run, surf, gym, beach with the pup... whatever it is, I’m chasing that feeling of pushing myself. I’ve always loved hard work. Doesn’t matter if it’s 3° or 40°, I show up.

What does recovery look like when you’re pushing that hard?

Recovery’s a non-negotiable. I’m training 8 to 11 sessions a week, working full-time, and trying to squeeze out performance at every level. That adds up fast. The biggest game-changer for me has been Advance CBD - paired with sleep, it’s easily the most effective tool I use. Not just for the body but mentally too. I don’t mess with the basics: 7–8 hours of solid sleep, every night. No compromise, especially in fight camp.

What does performance mean to you—beyond the gym?

Performance starts outside the ring. It’s about the 1%ers—doing the little things nobody else wants to do. Eating right, turning up, doing hard sh*t daily. That’s where you build resilience. You don’t just walk into a fight ready you earn that edge in the quiet moments. I dot every “i” and cross every “t”. That way, when it’s go-time, I know I’ve done the work. Nothing can break me.

Do you have one moment outside of boxing that shaped your character?

It’s not one moment. It’s a way of life. Showing up every single day, even when no one’s watching. That’s the real test. That’s where character is built.
